Mick Schumacher maakt volgende week eerste Mercedes-meters

Mick Schumacher is dit seizoen de reservecoureur van het team van Mercedes. De Duitse coureur heeft echter nog geen meter gereden in de huidige wagen van het team. Hier gaat echter snel verandering inkomen, want bandenleverancier Pirelli werkt volgende week een 2024-test af op het circuit van Barcelona.

Aankomend weekend staat de Spaanse Grand Prix in Barcelona op het programma. In de dagen daarna organiseert Pirelli in Spanje een meerdaagse test voor de banden voor het seizoen 2024. Pirelli maakte bekend dat de teams van Mercedes en Ferrari in actie zullen komen tijdens deze speciale test in Barcelona. Deze test is meestal een uitgelezen kans voor reserves om te laten zien wat ze in hun mars hebben.

Dat betekent dus dat Mick Schumacher volgende week weer meters zal gaan maken in een Formule 1-wagen. De Duitse coureur zal volgende week woensdag in actie gaan komen in Barcelona. Het worden Schumachers eerste meters in de huidige bolide Mercedes. Hij kent de auto vooral van de simulator, in de virtuele omgeving maakte hij al veel kilometers in de wagen. George Russell zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid ook in actie gaan komen tijdens de test, hij neemt de dinsdag voor zijn rekening bij Mercedes.
