Lotus-teambaas hoopt Chandhok te kunnen laten racen in India

Karun Chandhok kreeg dit jaar tijdens de Grand Prix van Duitsland een kans om zichzelf te bewijzen voor het Maleisische Lotus-team. Het team bleek erg tevreden met de progressie die Karun heeft geboekt. Teambaas Tony Fernandes hoopt zijn landgenoot een kans te kunnen geven tijdens Chandhok's thuisrace, de eerste in de historie van India.

Fernandes vertelde aan Reuters: "Ik zou hem graag in onze wagen zien tijdens de Grand Prix van India. Het is aan het team om te beslissen of hij zal rijden."

Tevens zegt de teambaas dat de coureurs voor volgend jaar hetzelfde blijven, al houdt hij nog een slag om de arm. "Ja, Heikki is onze nummer één volgend jaar, denk ik. Ondanks dat Jarno dit weekend beter kwalificeerde."
