FIA voert wijzigingen door aan uitloopzone bocht 1 Canada

Het circuit in Montreal staat al zeer lang op de Formule 1-kalender. De baan is in de afgelopen jaren ongeveer hetzelfde gebleven, maar dit jaar zijn er toch weer een aantal veranderingen doorgevoerd. Het lijkt erop dat de eerste bochtencombinatie er dit jaar iets anders uit gaat zien.

Dit weekend staat de Canadese Grand Prix op de kalender en de baan wordt weer voorbereid op de komst van de koningsklasse van de autosport. Op sociale media gaan beelden rond van een opvallende aanpassing in de uitloopzone van bocht 1. Op de foto's is te zien dat er een extra muur wordt geplaatst, wat voor problemen kan gaan zorgen als coureurs wijd gaan.

Of dit hekwerk er tijdens de race nog staat, is nog niet helemaal duidelijk. De FIA bevestigt wel dat er een aantal veranderingen zijn doorgevoerd in de eerste bocht van het circuit. Volgens de preview van de FIA is de muur in de uitloopzone van de bocht wat aangepast, iets wat ook geld voor bocht 7. Dit kan dus betekenen dat de coureurs zich geen foutjes meer kunnen permitteren in bocht 1. Of de muur nog wordt verplaatst, zal blijken in de eerste vrije trainingen.

Ja want rechtdoor gaan in T1 was natuurlijk altijd al een probleem.... je sneed bocht 2 af, kwam met vuile banden weer de baan op, had tijdverlies i.p.v. tijdwinst.... oh wacht, het was dus nooit een probleem....

Gelukkig blijft men goed in oplossingen bedenken voor problemen die er niet zijn.

Waarom dan? Al tig jaren is de baan zoals die is. Die kunstmatige uitloopstroken zorgen juist dat de druk er minder op ligt bij de coureurs, omdat de fout niet of nauwlijks word afgestraft. Iets wat goed is moet goed blijven. Ik ben juist voor het terughalen van grindbakken. Laat de coureurs maar zweten voor hun geld. De betere coureurs onderscheiden zich vanzelf.
