Williams viert 800ste Grand Prix tijdens twee raceweekenden

Het team van Williams viert dit seizoen een bijzonder jubileum in de Formule 1. De Britse renstal rijdt later dit seizoen namelijk de 800ste Grand Prix uit hun geschiedenis. Aangezien het cancelen van de Grand Prix van Emilia-Romagna voor wat problemen zorgt, viert het team het jubileum tijdens twee raceweekenden.

Voorafgaand het seizoen leek het er op dat Williams de 800ste Grand Prix zou gaan rijden op het thuiscircuit in Silverstone. Door het cancelen van de race wordt de 800ste race nu verreden in Hongarije. In Silverstone zal Williams alsnog een feestje gaan vieren. Williams maakte bekend dat ze op hun thuiscircuit met een speciale eenmalige livery gaan rijden. De livery zal verwijzen naar de Britse afkomst van het team en is een eerbetoon aan oprichter Frank Williams. Een week later rijden ze daadwerkelijke 800ste Grand Prix met een speciaal logo op de auto.
