De right to review van McLaren is afgewezen. De Britse renstal stapte met nieuw bewijs naar de stewards om de Canadese tijdstraf van Lando Norris aan te vechten. Norris werd daar bestraft vanwege onsportief gedrag en liep door zijn tijdstraf WK-punten mis, dat blijft nu dus staan.

McLaren was het niet eens met deze straf en maakte in Oostenrijk bekend dat ze een right to review hadden ingediend omdat ze nieuw bewijs hadden gevonden. Norris werd bestraft omdat hij opzettelijk langzamer ging rijden tijdens de Safety Car om een dubbele pitstop mogelijk te maken. McLaren wees tijdens het nieuwe verhoor naar een eerder incident met Valtteri Bottas in Monaco in 2019. Ook kwamen ze met nieuw beeldmateriaal en dat Alexander Albon hierdoor geen positie verloor.

De stewards bekeken de momenten en bewijzen, maar gingen niet mee in het verweer van de Britse renstal. Ze zagen geen echte nieuwe bewijzen en besloten dat er niet opnieuw naar het moment wordt gekeken. Hierdoor blijft de straf staan en krijgt Norris zijn WK-punten niet terug. McLaren zal vandaag in de Oostenrijkse Grand Prix op jacht gaan naar nieuw WK-punten.
