Deelname van Haas aan Pirelli-bandentest op Silverstone eindigt in mineur

Het Formule 1-team van Haas was deze week één van de uitgekozenen om F1-bandenleverancier te helpen om het rubber voor 2024 te gaan testen. Het circuit Silverstone was hierbij de locatie waar niet alleen Haas, maar ook onder andere Daniel Ricciardo de Italiaanse bandenfabrikant aan data hielpen. Voor de Amerikaanse renstal kwam de dag echter niet helemaal tot een goed einde.

Nico Hulkenberg mocht vandaag namens Haas flink wat ronden over Silverstone rijden. De Amerikaanse renstal zou namelijk aan een Pirelli-bandentest gaan deelnemen, om genoeg data te vergaren voor het rubber dat volgend seizoen gebruikt gaat worden.

De Duitse F1-veteraan zou de dinsdag samen met teamgenoot Kevin Magnussen delen om een flink aantal kilometers te gaan rijden, maar het lijkt erop dat de renstal van oprichter Gene Haas ook ná de Britse Grand Prix opnieuw last technische mankementen had. Zo duiken er foto's op social media rond dat de Haas-bolide via een sleeptruck weer terug naar de pitbox van het team is getakeld. Het is echter nog niet duidelijk of de renstal de rest van de dag nog zoals gepland heeft kunnen afmaken.
