Mercedes-coureur George Russell kon afgelopen weekend naar een wel heel speciale thuisrace tegemoet kijken, want naast een race op het legendarische Silverstone, kreeg de Britse jongeling de kans om met de Royal Air Force in een straaljager mee te vliegen. Sky Sports-verslaggever Ted Kravitz vergezelde hem.

    Ik heb in mijn diensttijd in een helebull verschillende helikopters en vliegtuigen gezeten, en daar ook uitgesprongen. Maar zo'n ritje in een straaljager met al die G-krachten lijkt mij ook echt wel supervet om eens meegemaakt te hebben. Lucky Sjors en Ted.

    Het enthousiasme druipt er af.
    De Typhoon is dan ook 'n fantastische jager.

    Ik wou maar dat ik het lef had om nog eens in 'n vliegtuig te stappen
    45 jaar geleden voor het eerst gevlogen......en dat was gelijk de laatste keer, twee keer (heen en terug) zo misselijk als 'n kat geweest....luchtzakken zijn niet zo bevorderlijk voor de maag dus...bijna 🤮🤮
