Incident met loszittende band op Goodwood loopt goed af

Gisteren ging het iconische Goodwood Festival of Speed van start. De eerste dag van het evenement werd gekenmerkt door een aantal slippertjes van de deelnemende coureurs. Het publiek hield de adem in na een incident met een klassieke Jaguar, maar volgens de organisatie zijn er geen zwaargewonde gevallen.

De Jaguar betrad de hillclimb toen het misging. Het achterwiel van de wagen raakte los, stuiterde door het gras, vloog over de hooibalen en belandde in het publiek. Het was geruime tijd niet duidelijk of er toeschouwers waren geraakt en wat hun toestand was. De organisatie liet weten dat niemand ernstige verwondingen heeft opgelopen en dat alle betrokkenen weer van het event genieten. Vandaag staat de tweede dag van het evenement op de planning.
