Team Lotus introduceert nieuwe vloer en diffuser in Singapore

Team Lotus brengt enkele updates mee naar de Grand Prix van Singapore in een poging om het gat naar de middenmoot te verkleinen. De Maleisische renstal beschikt op het stratencircuit over een nieuwe vloer en een nieuwe diffuser. Technisch directeur Mike Gascoyne is optimistisch gestemd.

We benaderen Singapore op een zelfde manier als Monaco, begint Gascoyne. We runnen een maximaal downforce-pakket in combinatie met een nieuwe vloer en nieuwe diffuser. Bovendien monteren we grotere brake ducts om de remmen voldoende te koelen. De cijfers uit de windtunnel zijn veelbelovend, hopelijk vertaalt zich dat naar het circuit.

Het wegdek in Singapore is aan het begin van het weekend nog erg glad en biedt weinig grip, maar dat verandert drastisch richting zondagavond. Pirelli levert de zachte en de superzachte banden. Het wordt interessant om te zien hoe de teams omspringen met de slijtage van die compounds.
