Sainz niet te spreken over bandenregelement: Grand Prix Hongarije was 'erg saai en vervelend'

Afgelopen weekend introduceerde de Formule 1 een nieuw bandenregelement. Bij het Grand prix-weekend in Hongarije kregen de twintig coureurs uit de koningsklasse maar 11 sets droogweerbanden, in plaats van de oorspronkelijke 13. Eén van de coureurs die de nieuwe regels niet zozeer kon waarderen, was Carlos Sainz.

Naast de vermindering van 2 setjes minder droogweerbanden, werd er tijdens de kwalificatie ook het een en ander aangepast. Terwijl iedere coureur bij Q1 alleen maar de harde band mocht gebruiken om zichzelf voor de Grand Prix te kwalificeren, werd de medium bandencompound in Q2 gebruikt, en waren de softs voor Q3 bestemd.

Ferrari-coureur Carlos Sainz vond de mindering in het rubberaantal geen goed idee, maar liet weten wél positief te zijn over hoe de kwalificatie was verlopen: "Ik vond de bandenregels voor de kwalificatie interessant, maar voor de rest van het weekend waren de regels erg saai en vervelend."

"We komen hier al op de woensdag aan om ons voor te bereiden en vervolgens spendeer je op de vrijdag meer tijd in de garage dan op de baan, omdat er niet genoeg banden zijn. Waarom hebben we dan twee trainingssessies van een uur lang, als er niet genoeg banden zijn om die sessies af te werken?"

“De vrijdagen zijn ervoor om van de auto te leren, om het circuit te verkennen en om een show aan de fans te geven. Het is duidelijk dat er het een en ander aangepast moet worden; of de planning, of de bandentoewijzing.”

“Tuurlijk zouden er minder banden gebruikt kunnen worden om duurzamer te worden. Maar tegelijkertijd hebben we drie sets van intermediates en drie sets wet-banden die we de meeste weekenden niet eens aanraken”, sluit Sainz af.

Heeft ie helemaal gelijk in. afgelopen race de zoveelste onbegrijpelijke tactischs keuzes bij Ferrari, tenzij je vindt dat Leclerc dit seizoen rijdt als een echt “baas” en vanwege zijn titelkansen de 2e coureur vanaf de 1e ronde in dienst van moet rijden.

  Eens. Ik heb er hier zelfs 11 liggen. Elke dag een andere band al duurt het wisselen wel langer dan 1.9 seconden.

  Helaas is de werkelijkheid dat Leclerc nauwelijks laat zien dat hij de man is die Ferrari naar een nieuwe titel gaat brengen, wat dat betreft zou Vasseur beter eens een kopje koffie kunnen gaan dtinken met de beide coureurs van McLaren, daar lijkt meer potentie dan bij zijn eigen coureurs.
  
  Sainz kan zich beter op Audi richten, of een wissel terug naar McLaren, want het wordt nu wel een beetje genant voor hem bij Ferrari.
  (ook voor Leclerc trouwens, als je teamgenoot zich aan jou aan moet passen terwijl je regelmatig als een zacht gekookt ei rijdt.

Ze willen te veel, als je een show aan het publiek wil geven, dan werkt dit dus niet, er reed bijna niemand op de vrijdag.

Als je een goede F1 race wil hebben dan moeten ze het woord besparen uit het F1 boek flikkeren. brandstof, banden, etc, vrij laten, en gas erop.

F1 moet het beste van het beste zijn, dat gaat niet op deze wijze gebeuren, weg met heel veel regels.

  F1 is een big spender. En als je probeert om daar duurzaamheid aan toe te voegen, ontstaan dit soort contrasten.

  Meer gras op de uitloopstroken., eigenlijk gewoon overal gras naast de baan! Meer spektakel en meteen ook co2 emissies verminderen.
  Verder gewoon racen graag. Hard racen en gas op die lollie zonder gekunstel.
