Aston Martin kondigt updates aan voor Zandvoort

Dit weekend gaat de tweede seizoenshelft van start met de Nederlandse Grand Prix op het circuit van Zandvoort. De teams kijken er reikhalzend naar uit en een aantal renstallen neemt dan ook nieuwe onderdelen mee. Dan Fallows laat weten dat zijn team Aston Martin ook updates meeneemt naar de baan in de Noord-Hollandse duinen.

Het team van Aston Martin begon goed aan het huidige seizoen. Met Fernando Alonso eindigden ze meerdere keren op het podium en waren ze eventjes de directe uitdager van koploper Red Bull Racing. In de laatste paar races voor de zomerstop ging het iets minder met Aston Martin en hadden ze het zwaar in de strijd met Ferrari, McLaren en Mercedes. Ze willen dan ook gaan toeslaan in het tweede gedeelte van het seizoen.

In Zandvoort willen ze de eerste stappen gaan zetten en dat gaan ze doen met een aantal updates. Het hing al eventjes in de lucht, maar in een persbericht bevestigt technisch directeur Dan Fallows het nieuws: "De vrije trainingen zijn voor ons essentieel om te zien hoe de banden zich gedragen in de long runs en de kwalificatieruns. Maar, we moeten hier onze tijd verdelen tussen oefenen en het evalueren van onze updates. We gaan in Zandvoort een paar aerodynamische updates testen."
