Mercedes en Aston Martin nemen grote updates mee naar Zandvoort

Vandaag gaat het Nederlandse Grand Prix-weekend officieel van start met de eerste twee vrije trainingen. Voor de teams is dat het ideale moment om een aantal nieuwe onderdelen uit te testen. Meerdere teams nemen updates mee naar het circuit van Zandvoort, slechts een paar teams introduceren enorme updatepakketten.

Het team van Red Bull Racing introduceert dit weekend slechts één nieuw onderdeel, wat vooral gericht is op de karakteristieken van Zandvoort. De Oostenrijkse renstal neemt alleen een nieuwe beam wing mee en houdt zich verder rustig. In tegenstelling tot Red Bull, kiest Mercedes voor een wat uitgebreider pakket. Het team kiest ook voor een aangepaste beam wing en introduceert verder een nieuwe floor edge en een nieuwe sidepod inlet.

Efficiëntie

Het team van McLaren kiest voor twee aanpassingen die volledig gericht is op het circuit van Zandvoort. Naast een nieuwe beam wing, kiest het team ook voor een nieuwe achtervleugel. Volgens het team is de achtervleugel bijna volledig vernieuwd en dit moet de aerodynamische efficiëntie verbeteren. Aston Martin kiest al helemaal voor een grote hoeveelheid updates. Het team had dit al eerder aangekondigd en introduceert een nieuwe floor body, nieuwe floor fences, een nieuwe floor edge en een nieuwe diffuser.

Ook de teams van Haas en AlphaTauri kiezen dit weekend voor een aantal updates. Haas past de voorvleugel, de neus en de achterzijde van de auto aan. Die laatste aanpassing is echter volledig gericht op Zandvoort. Het team van AlphaTauri past alleen de rear wing endplate aan. De overige teams nemen geen nieuwe onderdelen mee naar het circuit van Zandvoort.

  Het zou me niets verbazen als ze in het begin met de monocock van 2022 door zijn grgAn in 23 om nog het één en ander uit te zoeken met het zeropod concept en de B spec wat langer in ontwikkeling gehouden hebben.
  
  Op die manier kun je veel updates brengen voor het één en ander.
  
  Ik weet zo niet hoe het werkt als er zaken ontwikkeld worden maar vervolgens niet gebruikt worden in een F1 weekend.
  
  Volgens mij vallen ze dan buiten de Cost cap tot dat je de ontwikkelde technologie gebruikt in een f1 weekend

  Als de regels niet (veel) veranderen kun je volgens mij de monocock gewoon opnieuw gebruiken.
  Scheelt iig een hoop ontwikkel kosten.
  Als je dan een B spec maakt van dat budget omdat je denkt het lek boven water te hebben met bijv de vloer maar voor de zekerheid aan de zijlijn toch een 2e filosofie wil ontwikkelen zou het niet eens zo vreemd zijn.
  
  En bokgens mij is er van 2022 naar 2023 niets schokkende veranderd dat dit niet zou kunnen

Lewis komt in de interviews zoals altijd super gemotiveerd over, knap hoor om dat zo lang vast te kunnen houden.

Hij heeft als enige F1 coureur al die jaren in de F1 ook zelfs geen tijd gehad voor een vriendin, pure toewijding... beetje Mark Rutte achtige toewijding vermoed ik.
