'EU-regelgeving kan uitsluiten Andretti voorkomen'

Het begint er steeds meer op te lijken dat de FIA snel met meer duidelijkheid zal komen over de goedkeurig van mogelijke nieuwe Formule 1-teams. Andretti Cadillac lijkt goedkeuring van de FIA te krijgen, de Formule 1 staat alleen niet te springen. Regelgeving van de Europese Unie kan ervoor zorgen dat Andretti niet mag worden uitgesloten.

Het is algemeen bekend dat Andretti de koningsklasse van de autosport wil betreden. Andretti Global wil samen met General Motors-merk Cadillac de Formule 1 betreden. Begin dit jaar dienden ze hun plannen in bij de FIA en het lijkt er sterk op dat de autosportfederatie de Amerikanen een licentie gaat geven. Maar dat betekent niet dat Andretti vanaf 2025 op de grid staat. De kopstukken van de Formule 1 en de huidige teams zijn namelijk geen fan van de komst van een extra concurrent.

Het lijkt er echter op dat de Formule 1 de komst van Andretti Cadillac niet zomaar kan afwijzen. Het Duitse medium Auto, Motor und Sport meldt namelijk dat dit zeer moeilijk gaat worden vanwege regelgeving van de Europese Unie. Uit deze regelgeving blijkt namelijk dat een sport de deelname van een team niet mag weigeren tenzij ze veiligheidsredenen aanvoeren of als ze een legitieme zorg hebben over dat de komst van een nieuw team de ordelijke en eerlijke gang van zaken in gevaar kan brengen.

Maar Andretti is geen deelnemer in het Concorde Agreement.
Dus dan mogen ze misschien wel meedoen aan de wedstrijden (races) maar ze delen niet in de opbrengsten.
Dan wordt het wel een hele dure hobby voor de Familie Andretti en consorten.

  Cadillac levert alleen de stickers voor op de motor, verder niks. Maar Andretti moet wel eerst nog een deal met een motorfabrikant sluiten alvorens ze er een sticker op kunnen plakken. De motor zal ongetwijfeld een Renault/Alpine motor worden, gebadget als Cadillac.

F1 riekt naar kartelvorming op deze manier en gelukkig is dat verboden, behalve voor olie producenten natuurlijk 🙄

  Het leuke is dat de F1 Group, dus de rechtenhouder, niet in de EU is gevestigd, maar in Londen. Dat betekent dat de EU over de gehele F1 geen zeggenschap heeft over kartelvormingsregels. Ze kunnen mogelijk wel de races binnen de EU verplicht openstellen, maar daarmee heeft Andretti geen toegang tot de winstuitkeringen, startgelden en ook geen toegang tot de races buiten de EU.
  
  Maar ik heb het artikel van AMUS nog niet gelezen, dus het zal vast een stuk gecompliceerder liggen.

Reken maar dat de juristen in deze uitzondering genoeg aanknopingspunten vinden om deze 'zorg' uit te spreken en misschien zelfs hard te maken.
Kortom, ik vermoed dat de EU-regelgeving in deze casus niet gaat werken...

  Okee Larry,...andere reden zou kunne zijn ,..weet je nog destijds met jaguar en dat Lauda toen een soorte van fons had op gericht voor teams die financieel in zwaar water tercht kwamen,...dat willen ook natuurlijk voorkomen....denk ik dan......
