Hülkenberg flirt met toekomstig Audi-zitje

Terwijl de meeste teams zich momenteel focussen op het heden en de nabij toekomst, is Audi volop bezig met het 2026-project. De Duitse autobouwer debuteert in dat jaar in de Formule 1 en de voorbereidingen zijn in volle gang. Nico Hülkenberg volgt de ontwikkelingen op de voet, hij noemt het een aantrekkelijk project.

In 2026 gaan er nieuwe motorreglementen gelden in de Formule 1. Deze regels hebben de interesse getrokken van meerdere partijen. Honda keert vanaf dat jaar officieel terug, Ford gaat samenwerken met Red Bull Racing en Audi betreedt het speelveld. De Duitsers gaan samenwerken met het team van Sauber, nu actief als Alfa Romeo, en ze toveren de Zwitserse renstal om in een echt fabrieksteam.

Veel coureurs hebben interesse in het project van Audi. Het is bekend dat ze graag een Duitse coureur willen aantrekken. Huidig Haas-coureur laat in de podcast Beyond the Grid weten dat hij hier wel oren naar heeft: "Het is zeker één van de aantrekkelijkste projecten van het moment. Er komt een nieuw merk naar de Formule 1. Het is ook nog eens een Duits merk, het zijn veel mensen waar ik mee heb gewerkt en ze weten hoe ze moeten presteren. Op papier klinkt het heel goed. Ik moet natuurlijk blijven presteren en misschien krijg ik daar een kans. De tijd zal het ons vertellen."

In 2026 is Nico al 40 jaar oud, maar in de meeste Audi's is genoeg ruimte voor een rollator...

  Alles wat bij VAG vandaan komt wat VW of Audi heeft zit best lekker, maar onderstuur, onderstuur, onderstuur, onderstuur.
  Quattro of niet.
  Liever iets met hinten antrieb van BMW of Mercedes, momenteel laagvliegen met een 330xD
  Mercedes is gewoon comfortabeler, BMW net effe beter gebalanceerd.
  Audi en VW?
  Veel te zwaar op de neus of weinig spannend onderstel wat onderstuur en torquesteer bevorderd.

  @macGyver, ik heb toch in aardig wat VAG hokken geten waar ik zelfs mijn schoonmoeder niet in zou zetten. Maar natuurlijk ook in een aantal waar het inderdaad prima in zitten was.

  @MacGyver Heb je ook een S-Line A4,A5 of A6 gereden met Quattro ? Die sturen zo scherp als een mes in elke bocht. Achterwiel aandrijving... ik mis het niet met Quattro icm S-Line. Quattro op een Q model is zinloos, dat wiebelt zo alle kanten op. Ook een 4Motion Tiguan reageert zo.
