Gasly vraagt fans om meer respect: "Dit blijft onze werkplek"

De populariteit van de Formule 1 is in de afgelopen jaren flink toegenomen. De tribunes rondom de circuits zitten propvol en ook in de paddock lopen veel VIPs en andere gasten rond. Pierre Gasly is blij met de aanwezigheid van de fans, maar hij roept zijn volgers wel op om de coureurs de ruimte te geven.

Anderhalve week geleden was het zeer druk in de paddock in Monza. Op foto's en ander beeldmateriaal was te zien dat teampersoneel moeite had om door de menigte heen te komen. Ook de coureurs moesten voortdurend op de foto gaan met de aanwezige fans. Dit zorgde voor ongemak, want de coureurs zijn immers ook bezig met hun werk. Sommige fans klopten zelfs op de deur van kleedkamers en privévertrekken van de rijders.

Alpine-coureur Pierre Gasly vindt het een zeer lastige situatie. De Fransman is dol op de fans, maar hij wil ook niet dat het te ver gaat. In gesprek met Motorsport.com legt hij het uit: "Ik houd van de fans en ik geniet er altijd van om ze aandacht te geven, maar het is en blijft onze werkomgeving. Soms is het lastig om door de paddock te gaan en om ervoor te zorgen dat we op tijd bij onze verplichtingen zijn. Dit is tot op de minuut gepland. Monza is één van de drukste plekken. Het is leuk, maar soms wordt er zelfs op de deur van de hospitality geklopt.  Ze moeten ons wel de ruimte geven om te werken."

"Er zijn niet veel andere sporten waarbij fans zo dicht bij de atleten kunnen komen", zei de Brit toen.

    In der TD018 geht es auf drei Seiten um die Biegsamkeit von Verkleidungsteilen. Sie tritt in Singapur in Kraft. TD039 definiert die Regeln für die Befestigungen der Bodenplatte und das aerodynamisch erzeugte Schaukeln der Autos.

    .............. Damit machte die TD039 Schluss. Inzwischen ist ein Jahr vergangen, und die Teams haben schon wieder neue Schlupflöcher entdeckt.
    Der neu hinzugefügte Paragraf 1.3 soll nun auch diese zuschütten.

    Flügelanbindungen im Fokus

    In TD018 geht es im weitesten Sinne um Verkleidungsteile, tatsächlich aber um die Flügel vorne wie hinten. Die FIA-Prüfer haben offenbar einige Teams beim Ausreizen des Reglements erwischt. Es betrifft nicht die Flügel selbst, sondern die Verbiegung des kompletten Flügels in Relation zu anderen Teilen am Auto.

    So soll sich am Aston Martin der Frontflügel zu stark am Ansatzpunkt zur Nase verdreht haben. Bei anderen Teams wurden Heckflügel entdeckt, die sich im Vergleich zur Stütze oder den Endplatten zu stark verformt haben. Allen ist noch der Wackelflügel von Alpine beim GP Kanada in Erinnerung.

    In der jüngsten Technische Direktive werden die Teams gewarnt, es auf die Spitze zu treiben. Die FIA verbietet deshalb ab dem GP Singapur Flügelelemente, die sich relativ zu anderen Teile der Verkleidung in irgendeine Richtung verbiegen oder rotieren können. Verboten sind elastische Füllungen oder Karbonstrukturen, die sich an Verbindungsstellen verdrehen oder "weiche" Materialien an den Kanten der Flügel.

    Ein Ingenieur schätzt den Effekt der Flügel-TD größer ein als die Einschränkungen beim Unterboden: "Wer beim Unterboden Korrekturen vornehmen muss und als Folge etwas mehr Bodenfreiheit lassen muss, verliert schlimmstenfalls Abtrieb. Wenn sich der Frontflügel um den Befestigungspunkt an der Nase verdreht hat, dann war die komplette Aerodynamik daraufhin konzipiert. Wer da zurückstecken muss, riskiert nicht nur Abtriebsverlust, sondern auch Balanceprobleme."
