Het team van Red Bull Racing is dit jaar bezig met een extreem sterk seizoen in de Formule 1. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft tot nu toe alle Grands Prix gewonnen en de constructeurstitel lijkt haast een zekerheid te zijn. Aankomend weekend in Singapore bestaat er een kleine kans dat ze daadwerkelijk deze titel kunnen pakken.

Red Bull gaat momenteel met ruim 300 punten voorsprong aan de leiding in het constructeurskampioenschap. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft in totaal 583 punten bij elkaar gereden. Eerste achtervolger Mercedes staat momenteel op 273 punten. Als de Duitse renstal dit weekend slecht voor de dag komt, dan is Red Bull wederom constructeurskampioen. Er zijn twee mogelijke scenario's om tot die titel te komen.

Red Bull-coureurs Max Verstappen en Sergio Perez moeten in ieder geval op de eerste twee plekken finishen in Singapore, anders is het niet mogelijk om aankomend weekend al constructeurskampioen te worden. Als Verstappen en Perez een 1-2tje pakken en Mercedes geen enkel WK-punt scoort, dan is Red Bull constructeurskampioen. Als ze een 1-2tje pakken en de snelste rondetijd noteren, dan is Red Bull constructeurskampioen als Mercedes één of geen punten scoort. In alle andere scenario's is een titel voor Red Bull niet mogelijk in Singapore.

Japan dan maar. Dat is ook veel leuker met een Honda motor.

  Ik gun het de Japanners ook.
  Is ook een extra sneer naar Honda omdat ze er dan opnieuw aan worden herinnerd dat zij (!!!) de stekker uit dit F1 project met RBR hebben getrokken.
  In alle opzichten is Japan dus dé aangewezen plek.

  Zo moeilijk lijkt me dat niet. Er is een deal dat Honda de motoren blijft bouwen die worden 'verzorgd' bij rbpt.
  Eerste periode zonder sponsoring van Honda, dus geen naam meer op de auto.
  Met de successen bedacht Honda dat ze toch wel wat exposure misten zo. Ze zijn dus weer Red Bull gaan sponsoren.
  
  Voor mij is het ook gewoon de Honda motor trouwens. Echter 'officieel' is het een rbpt motor. Dat kan je zien in de lijstjes op wiki die verder door niemand wordt gelezen schijnt het. Maar he! Alles op internet is de waarheid he!
  
  In ieder geval lijkt mij de situatie alles behalve ingewikkeld. En gelukkig profiteert Honda duidelijk mee van hun goede werk.
