Alpine introduceert opvallende spiegels in Singapore

Meerdere teams introduceren dit weekend in Singapore meerdere updates. Veel van deze updates zullen morgen pas naar buiten komen, maar een aantal zijn nu al duidelijk zichtbaar. Het team van Alpine introduceert dit weekend wel een heel opvallend nieuw onderdeel op de wagens van Pierre Gasly en Esteban Ocon.

Alpine introduceert dit weekend namelijk nieuwe opvallende spiegels. De Franse renstal heeft de normaal gesproken gladde designs van het onderdeel volledig aangepast. De nieuwe spiegels zijn voorzien van twee grote vleugels. Het is niet helemaal duidelijk wat hiervan het gevolg gaat zijn, maar het lijkt erop dat Alpine op deze manier op zoek gaat naar meer performance. Het is de verwachting dat Alpine ook onder meer met nieuwe sidepods komt.

      Om te voorkomen dat ze als spiegels worden beschouwd hebben ze er voor de zekerheid maar het glas eruit gehaald ;-)

      Mwua volgens mij was t dat de spiegel niet zelf als hoofddoel aërodynamica mag hebben en dus niet als een vleugel fungeren en zo doende downforce. Als geleider van lucht om t van richting te veranderen kan dan weer wel, wat ik wezen de voorgaande spiegel ook al t geval is.

      Overigens snap ik niet waarom F1, top van de autosport en techniek, nog met spiegels rijden.

      Ik bedoel maak een display aan dat 3 hoek gedeelte van de halo en een camera aan de achtervleugel pilaren en coureurs kunnen ineens achteruit kijken. (Wat nu nog steeds bijna niet gaat)

      WEC doet dit al jaren.
