Het circuit van Suzuka kan dit weekend wederom het decor zijn van een kampioensrace. Max Verstappen kan in Japan nog geen wereldkampioen worden, maar zijn werkgever Red Bull Racing wel. De kans is namelijk best wel groot dat de Oostenrijkse renstal zich dit weekend voor het tweede jaar op rij tot constructeurskampioen mag kronen.

Red Bull Racing is dit seizoen oppermachtig in de Formule 1. Pas vorige week in Singapore werden ze voor het eerst dit seizoen verslagen. Red Bull heeft in totaal 597 WK-punten bij elkaar gereden, hun achtervolgers Mercedes en Ferrari staan respectievelijk op 289 en 265 punten. Beide renstallen kunnen in theorie nog constructeurskampioen worden, maar de kans is veel groter dat Red Bull dit weekend al de champagne mag ontkurken.

De opdracht voor Red Bull-coureurs Max Verstappen en Sergio Perez is dit weekend relatief simpel. Ze moeten rekening houden met Mercedes en Ferrari, maar ze hebben wel alles in eigen hand. Ze moeten simpelweg één punt meer scoren dan Mercedes en ze moeten ervoor zorgen dat Ferrari niet meer dan 23 punten inloopt. Zodra ze dit doel bereiken in Suzuka, dan is de buit binnen. Aangezien men geen rampenweekend verwacht zoals in Singapore, is de kans op titelprolongatie huizenhoog.

Max heeft overigens de rijders de rijderstitel nog niet gewonnen, Red Bull heeft dat wel bijna

Max staat 194 punten voor op Lewis Hamilton die P3 staat en er zijn nog 199 punten te winnen als Hamilton alle 7 GP's en 8 sprintraces zou winnen(dan zou Max wel al die races 0 moeten scoren wil Hamilton nog kans maken)

  dan hadden ze afgelopen weekend 43 punten meer moeten scoren dan Mercedes. Opzettelijk verliezen was dus echt niet nodig, met P1 en P3 en een dubbele uitvalbeurt van Mercedes hadden ze het al niet gered.
  Sowieso gaan teams voor dit soort dingen echt geen overwinning weggeven. Ze waren net zo lief wel als kersvers kampioen in Japan aangekomen hoor.
  Eerlijk gezegd kan ik heel slecht tegen dit soort domme redenatie's, hopelijk was het een grapje.

  een grapje denk ik ;) maar ik weet dat er ook mensen zijn die echt zo denken. Vorig jaar werd er ook al zo geredeneerd door sommigen toen Verstappen eerst in Singapore al kampioen kon worden en het later in Japan eerst niet en later toch wel lukte.
  Hoe dan ook, ik lees hier best veel dingen waarvan ik hoop dat het een grap is, maar vaak blijkt men het toch te menen.
