Alpine begrijpt Gasly, maar staat nog steeds achter teamorder

Het team van Alpine kwam afgelopen weekend niet goed voor de dag in Japan. Coureurs Esteban Ocon en Pierre Gasly eindigden weliswaar in de punten, maar dat ging niet echt op een handige manier. Gasly moest zijn teamgenoot laten passeren en dat zorgde voor veel woede bij de Fransman. Volgens Bruno Famin was het een logische beslissing van zijn team.

Gasly kreeg in de slotfase van de race te horen dat hij zijn teamgenoot moest laten passeren. De Fransman reageerde furieus, hij voldeed aan de opdracht, maar hij maakte daarna in woord en gebaar duidelijk wat hij hiervan vond. Het mocht wel duidelijk zijn dat Gasly woedend was. Ook na afloop van de race was hij nog niet afgekoeld en liet hij zijn frustratie nogmaals spreken bij de internationale pers.

Bij Alpine staat men echter nog steeds achter de teamorder. Interim teambaas Bruno Famin laat na afloop weten wat de redenatie hierachter is. Bij Motorsport.com legt Famin het uit: "We hebben geen problemen tussen onze coureurs. Ik denk dat het heel normaal is dat coureurs voor hun eigen resultaat willen vechten, dat is normaal en dat is waarvoor ze worden betaald. Ze krijgen ook betaald om de beste resultaten te pakken voor het team. Dat wilden we doen door Esteban en Pierre van positie te laten wisselen, om zo Alonso aan te kunnen vallen. Dat lukte niet, dus dan is het normaal om terug te wisselen."

Bij vlagen rijdt hij best aardig, maar ik vind het een naar over het paard getild mannetje onze Pierre Gasly.
Hij heeft bij Alpine iig zijn gelijke gevonden :-)
