AlphaTauri gaat nauwer samenwerken met Red Bull

Het team van AlphaTauri is de zusterrenstal van het succesvolle Red Bull Racing. In tegenstelling tot Red Bull, komt AlphaTauri niet goed voor de dag. De Italiaanse renstal laat weten dat ze nog beter gaan samenwerken met het topteam, ze zullen meer onderdelen gaan gebruiken.

AlphaTauri zal volgend seizoen een flinke metamorfose ondergaan. Teameigenaar Red Bull twijfelde begin dit seizoen over de toekomst van het team, maar ze besloten AlphaTauri niet te verkopen. Ze gaan wel een aantal veranderingen doorvoeren: het team krijgt een nieuwe naam, er is een nieuwe teambaas aangesteld in de vorm van Laurent Mekies en ze zullen beter gaan samenwerken met Red Bull.

Eerder werd al aangekondigd dat AlphaTauri meer zou gaan overnemen van Red Bull. AlphaTauri-kopstuk Jody Egginton laat aan RaceFans dat er zal worden gekeken hoeveel er volgens de regels mag worden overgenomen: "Sinds we deze synergie zijn begonnen in 2019, zijn de onderdelen die we uit het menu hebben geselecteerd altijd anders geweest en volgend jaar zal het min of meer weer anders zijn. Uiteindelijk moet je als klantenteam ook rekening met het budget houden als je onderdelen gaat kopen. We zullen maximaliseren wat mogelijk is."

De keuze om beter te gaan samenwerken met Red Bull, is gemaakt door de teameigenaren. Egginton draait daar niet om heen en hij verklaart zich nader: "Het kom erop neer dat er drie verschillende soorten reglementen zijn. We hebben een sportief, technisch en financieel reglement en het hoofdkantoor zegt dat we zoveel mogelijk moeten maximaliseren. We worden aangemoedigd om naar alles te kijken en elk gebied te verkennen. Er zijn alleen een aantal dingen die we niet kunnen overnemen."

2 bedrijven onder hetzelfde dak met dezelfde activiteit kan een enorme besparing betekenen (voor de BC) van beide. Mogelijk komt hier later nog wel een reactie op van rivaliserende teams/FIA . . . En als AT de RB19 wordt maken ze naar ontwikkeling toe ook een belangrijke besparing voor de 2024 wagen.

Zou tijd worden, AT staat kansloos onderaan. Ook voor de rijders is dat een positieve ontwikkeling. Voorin rijden is leuker dan achteraan.

Red Bull lijkt mij instaat om AT veel makkelijker vooruit te helpen met technische ondersteuning. In het verleden is dat ook gebleken.

voor redbull is belangrijk dat de wagen zo principe rond plaats 10 kan rijden... Maar belangrijkste is dat de rijders meer uitkan halen.

Het zou me ook niet verbazen als ze van Italië gaan verhuizen naar Engeland.
Er zijn in Italië gewoon minder mensen met ervaring te vinden die je zou kunnen aantrekken. Dat beperkt Ferrari al en dat speelt wellicht nog wel meer voor AlphaTauri.
In Engeland heb je meerdere F1 teams en dus kun je altijd proberen mensen bij die andere teams vandaan te halen. Voor die engineers is het vaak aantrekkelijk om niet naar Italië te hoeven verhuizen. Zelfs voor Adrian Newey was zijn gezinssituatie, en dus het niet naar Italië willen verhuizen, de reden om niet naar Ferrari te gaan.
