Haas onthult speciale livery voor thuisrace

Het team van Haas rijdt dit weekend in Austin een thuisrace. Het team is vooralsnog de enige Amerikaanse renstal op de grid en dat willen ze vieren tijdens het aankomende raceweekend. De wagens van Nico Hülkenberg en Kevin Magnussen zijn dan ook voorzien van een eenmalige livery.

Haas onthulde vorige week al de speciale racepakken voor Hülkenberg en Magnussen. De stars & stripes van de Amerikaanse vlag kwamen hier in terug. Vandaag deelt het team digitale beelden van de kleurstelling voor het aankomende weekend. De wagens zullen op het Circuit of the Americas voorzien zijn van een nieuw likje verf. De kleuren van de Amerikaanse vlag zullen veelvuldig aanwezig zijn op de wagens.

    Op zich houd ik wel van subtiele extra's, maar een speciale livery voor thuis mag best wat verder gaan. Zeker met het schreeuwerige Amerikaanse. Ram gewoon pontificaal een Amerikaanse vlag op dat ding. Ja, weegt wat aan verf, maar het is niet zo als Haas voor interessante plekken meedoet.

      Dit is dan ook symbolisch aan hoe niet amerikaans Haas is.

      Zelfs de helm van een bescheiden Amerikaan als Sargeant schreeuwt meer Amerrrikah dan Haas.

      Een nieuwe livery is best wel leuk maar waar ik voornamelijk naar uitkijk zijn hun upgrades die ze zullen meebrengen. Het zou om een volledig nieuw pakket gaan, iets waar ze van begin van dit seizoen aan hebben gewerkt en als basis moet dienen voor volgend jaar. Het zou ook op basis van het RB concept gaan volgens de eerste berichten.

      Hun kwalificatiesnelheid was in de eerste helft van het seizoen nog vrij goed maar in de race verslijt die wagen nog altijd banden dat het een lieve lust is. Hopelijk kunnen ze zowel in Q als R wat snelheid terugvinden. Vind het altijd mooi dat mensen ook respect tonen voor de wat mindere goden (teams) op de grid.

      @ Flex Klopt, heb ik ook gehoord. Wellicht dat het daardoor niet mogelijk was omdat ze gewoon een optimale samenstelling wilde hebben. Maar ook de pakken zijn redelijk sober gehouden.

      @Tyla Mwah, wat is Amerikaans... Is Mercedes Duits? Red Bull Oostenrijks? Niets raars in F1. Ok, Haas doet er nog een schepje bovenop door ook in Italië hun auto te laten maken.

      Ik heb begrepen dat ze met een flink pakket aan updates komen. Dermate groot dat als het goed uit komt, ze een goede stap gaan maken.
