Job van Uitert krijgt Hypercar-kans bij WEC-rookietest

Zoals gebruikelijk wordt er aan het einde van het World Endurance Championship-seizoen de zogenaamde rookietest afgewerkt. De teams geven dan getalenteerde coureurs en opvallende namen de kans om meters te maken in hun wagen. Eén van de teams in de Hypercar-klasse geeft dit jaar een talentvolle Nederlandse coureur de kans.

Het team van Floyd Vanwall Racing geeft Job van Uitert namelijk de kans om de rookietest af te werken op het circuit van Bahrein. Voor Van Uitert is het zijn eerste kennismaking met een auto uit de hoogste klasse van de enduranceracerij. De Nederlander mag op 5 november in actie komen, dat is één dag na het einde van het seizoen in het World Endurance Championship.

Van Uitert is allesbehalve een onbekende naam in de enduranceracerij. Hij nam dit jaar al deel aan de 24 uur van Le Mans en hij racet dit jaar in de European Le Mans Series. In de ELMS rijdt hij voor het team van Panis Racing en dat doet hij zeker niet slecht, zijn equipe staat namelijk op de derde plaats in het kampioenschap. Dit weekend worden de laatste rondes van het kampioenschap afgewerkt in Portugal en daarna mag Van Uitert zich dus volledig gaan focussen op zijn aanstaande Hypercar-test.
