Haas breekt curfew om groot motorprobleem op te lossen

Het team van Haas is één van de renstallen die vandaag een rookie inzetten. De Amerikaanse renstal laat Oliver Bearman rijden tijdens de eerste vrije training, maar voor de start van de sessie ontdekten ze een probleem. Het team moest de curfew breken om de problemen op te lossen.

Uit de documenten van de FIA blijkt dat Haas de curfew heeft gebroken achttien uur voor de start van de eerste vrije training. Meestal is het niet duidelijk waarom een team dit doet, maar meerdere media melden dat Haas een probleem in het oliesysteem bij de motor had ontdekt bij de auto van Kevin Magnussen. Het team besloot daarom de curfew te breken en de training van Bearman komt dus niet in gevaar. Ook het team van AlphaTauri heeft de curfew gebroken.
