Hadjar telt dagen af tot Red Bull-training: "Betekent alles voor mij"

Het team van AlphaTauri zette afgelopen weekend in de eerste vrije training een rookie in. De jonge Isack Hadjar mocht plaatsnemen in de wagen van Yuki Tsunoda en hij kende een aardige sessie. Later dit seizoen mag hij ook een training rijden voor het grote Red Bull Racing en Hadjar is enorm trots.

Hadjar is na Liam Lawson de meeste vooruitgeschoven pion uit het Red Bull Junior Team. Lawson heeft dit jaar al zijn debuut gemaakt als vervanger van Daniel Ricciardo, dus dat betekent dat Hadjar de nieuwe trainingscoureur is. Afgelopen weekend mocht hij in Mexico voor het eerst plaatsnemen in een Formule 1-wagen. In Abu Dhabi rijdt hij samen met mede rookie Jake Dennis ook een training voor het grote Red Bull Racing.

De jonge Franse coureur leeft zijn droom. Vlak na de eerste training in Mexico deelde hij al zijn vreugde over zijn sessie en die vrolijkheid is nog lang niet verdwenen. In gesprek met F1 TV laat Hadjar weten dat hij de dagen aftelt tot Abu Dhabi: "Dat betekent alles voor mij. Het is de snelste auto in de wereld en het is een eer om daarin te mogen gaan rijden. Ik voel mij gezegend en ik grijp deze kans met beide handen aan. Ik heb nu ervaring met het rijden in een F1-auto dus volgende keer wil ik echt presteren."
