Alpine zeer tevreden met Hypercar-test Schumacher

Mick Schumacher staat ook volgend seizoen niet op de Formule 1-grid. Er is alleen nog maar een stoeltje vrij bij Williams en Schumacher is geen kanshebber. De Duitser is hard op weg naar een WEC-zitje bij Alpine en bij de Franse renstal zijn ze tevreden na Schumachers eerste test.

Het team van Alpine is volgend jaar niet alleen actief in de Formule 1, maar ook in de topklasse van de enduranceracerij. Ze gaan deelnemen aan de Hypercar-klasse en momenteel wordt er flink getest met de A424. Mick Schumacher wordt al geruime tijd in verband gebracht met een zitje bij het team. In het Spaanse Jerez mocht hij vorige week voor het eerst kennismaken met de Hypercar, hij kwam in actie tijdens de testdagen.

Bij de Franse renstal is men tevreden met de eerste meters van Schumacher in de Hypercar. Interim Alpine-teambaas Bruno Famin laat in Mexico in ieder geval weten dat de eerste signalen zeer positief waren. Tijdens de persconferentie voor teamvertegenwoordigers sprak hij zich uit: "Mick heeft de auto acht dagen geleden getest in Jerez. We zijn heel erg blij met zijn performance, zijn algehele prestaties en zijn omgang met het team. Ik denk dat hijzelf ook blij was. Dat betekent dat we nog steeds praten over volgend jaar. Maar we zijn slechts op dat punt."
