Alpine blij met komst nieuwe motorenbaas

Het team van Alpine heeft in de persoon van Eric Meignan een nieuwe directeur voor de motorenafdeling gevonden. Zijn komst werd stilletjes bekend gemaakt, maar dat betekent niet dat men hier niet tevreden mee is. Teambaas Bruno Famin is blij met de ervaring die Meignan met zich meebrengt.

De Franse renstal nam in de afgelopen maanden afscheid van veel belangrijke namen. Ook op het gebied van de krachtbronnen moest men op zoek gaan naar een nieuwe baas. Oude bekende Eric Meignan werd afgelopen week aangetrokken door het team, hij zal met de scepter gaan zwaaien op het gebied van de motoren. Dat betekent dat hij in Viry de grote man zal gaan worden.

Meignan heeft in de afgelopen jaren ervaring opgedaan bij de teams van Ferrari en Mercedes. Teambaas Bruno Famin laat in Mexico aan Motorsport.com weten dat hij enorm tevreden is met de komst van Meignan: "We zijn blij dat Eric er weer is in Viry en hij neemt enorm veel ervaring met zich mee. Hij is al langer actief in de Formule 1 en ik denk dat hij ons team echt enorm gaat uitdagen. Zijn komst kon niet op een beter moment komen, want hij kan onze jongens gaan helpen met het bouwen van de motoren voor 2026."
