FIA streng voor Braziliaanse organisatie: Onaanvaardbare situatie

Na afloop van de Braziliaanse Grand Prix moest de organisatie zich melden bij de stewards. Er was namelijk een gevaarlijke situatie ontstaan direct na de finish van de race op het circuit van Interlagos en volgens de stewards is dan onaanvaardbaar. Ze zijn zeer streng voor de organisatie in Sao Paulo.

Vlak na de race werd al duidelijk dat er iets was voorgevallen na afloop van de Grand Prix. Volgens de stewards brak een grote groep fans door de hekken heen in de uitloopstrook in bocht 1. Op dat moment kwamen veel coureurs nog over de finish en de coureurs reden dan ook volgas. Hierdoor ontstond er een onveilige situatie voor zowel de coureurs als het publiek, de stewards zijn daar niet zo blij mee.

De organisatie heeft toegegeven dat de veiligheidsprotocollen hebben gefaald en ze geven toe dat dit leidde tot een onaanvaardbare situatie. De organisatie gaat een onderzoek doen naar de situatie, maar de stewards sluiten daarmee niet de zaak. Ze willen op zijn laatst op 30 januari 2024 een plan zien om dit soort dingen in de toekomst te voorkomen. De zaak wordt nu naar het World Motor Sport Council gestuurd om te kijken of er nog meer maatregelen worden genomen.
