FIA wijst twee DRS-zones aan in Las Vegas

De Grand Prix van Las Vegas wordt dit weekend verreden op een spectaculair stratencircuit. De baan leidt dwars door het centrum van de gokstad en ook de wereldberoemde Strip is onderdeel van de lay-out. Om voor nog meer spektakel te zorgen, heeft de FIA twee DRS-zones aangewezen.

Het circuit van Las Vegas kent meerdere lange rechte stukken, maar ze hebben slechts twee DRS-zones. De coureurs mogen voor het eerst hun vleugel openen twintig meter na bocht vier. Het detectiepunt voor deze eerste zone ligt tien meter na de tweede bocht. Het tweede DRS-punt ligt op de Strip. 710 meter na bocht twaalf ligt het detectiepunt en op 820 meter voor bocht 14 mogen de coureurs hun achtervleugel openen. Dat klinkt als een bijzondere plek, maar het rechte stuk op de Strip is 1,9 kilometer lang.
