Gedupeerde fans slepen F1-organisatie voor de rechter

Het raceweekend in Las Vegas begon op een nogal chaotische wijze. De eerste vrije training werd al na een paar minuten afgelast en de fans werden weggestuurd voordat de uitgestelde tweede vrije training begon. Dit krijgt nu een staartje, want een groep boze fans eist een forse schadevergoeding.

Al na acht minuten zat de eerste vrije training er in Las Vegas op. Een frame van een putdeksel was losgeraakt en daardoor liepen de auto's van Carlos Sainz en Esteban Ocon veel schade op. Aangezien alle putdeksel gecheckt moesten worden, duurde het heel lang voor de tweede training van start kon gaan. De tribunes waren toen echter al leeg, want een half uurtje voor de start van VT2 werden de fans gedwongen om te vertrekken.

Advocatenkantoren Dimopoulos Law en JK Legal & Consulting hebben namens de gedupeerde fans Formule 1-eigenaar Liberty Media aangeklaagd in de staat Nevada. Ze eisen namens 35.000 gedupeerde fans 30.000 dollar schadevergoeding per persoon. Ze spreken in de aanklacht van contractbreuk, nalatigheid en misleidende handelspraktijken. De organisatie had de fans eerder al gecompenseerd met een tegoedbon van 200 dollar voor de fanshop. Hier werd niet bepaald positief op gereageerd, in een reactie bood de organisatie ook geen excuses aan.

      Putdeksel fout = Nalatigheid.... kleine kans op succes, maar niet meer dan dat.
      Je wordt ondanks een kaartje weggejaagd voor VT2 = oplichterij, dan is het gewoon geld terug.

      Gebrek aan amusement .. dat kan ook zomaar. In het Duits is dat gebrek aan Gemütlichkeit weleens met succes bepleit voor een rechtbank... en ja... Dag 1 was echt nul komma nul niks, en als je dan $ 500 of meer hebt betaald, dan wil je dat terug.

    Nee, natuurlijk boden ze geen excuses aan, dat zou het domste zijn wat je kan doen als je een rechtzaak wil voorkomen.

    Maar mooie bedragen, 30.000 dollar voor gederfde levensvreugde, staat mooi in verhouding 😄

      Er zal geschopt moeten worden tegen dit sorst praktijken anders denkt liberty overal mee weg te komen. Neem alleen spa vorig jaar of het jaar ervoor. Denk niet dat iemand ëen vergoeding gekregen heeft.

    Haha dat is ruim een miljard. Maar goed je moet hoog inzetten en in Amerika weet je het nooit. Die kaartjes zijn nu wel ineens heel veel geld waard. Ebay zal wel volstaan met kaartjes van VT2 straks.

    Dit vind ik één van de mooiste uitdrukkingen: "Iemand voor de rechter slepen". Zie dat (in tekenfilmstijl) al gebeuren. En bij voorkeur nog even door de modder ook.

    Ja die zag ik donderdag al aankomen. Dit kan wel eens het einde van de FIA en FOM zijn. Die hebben zichzelf mank geschoten daar. Er zullen vast nog wel meerdere klachten bij komen. Wordt Toto zijn "putdekseltje" toch een dure.

    En eigenlijk is het geweldig om te zien hoe een GP organisator in NL met een budget dat misschien een procent is van wat ze er tegenaan gesmeten hebben in Las Vegas een veel beter resultaat hebben neergezet. En dat al drie jaar lang.

    De race in LV vond ik wel erg goed maar daarvoor was al die celebetart franje niet voor nodig geweest. En heeft alleen maar irritatie opgewekt, behalve natuurlijk bij een iemand. Die vond het natuurlijk helemaal te gek en heeft genoten.

    Lijkt me juist geweldig als Zandvoort volgend jaar de primeur heeft om oude coureurs in hun oude wagen de baan op te sturen als een hommage aan die oude tijden. Dat kunnen de bezoekers denk ik meer waarderen dan een optreden van een feest DJ.

    Mario Andretti in z'n oude Lotus, Emerson Fittipaldi in een McLaren en Jos in z'n Benetton B194.

    Ach ja, het zijn Amerikanen hé? Die klagen elkaar voor alles en nog wat aan. Was ooit een oma die een magnetron fabrikant had aangeklaagd omdat op de beschrijving niet stond dat je er GÉÉN huisdieren in mag doen.
