Sutil gelooft in kans om Lotus Renault GP van plek vijf te verdringen

Het team van Force India ruikt bloed. De Indiase renstal heeft Lotus Renault GP in het vizier. De manschappen van Vijay Mallya staan nog 22 punten achter op plek vijf bij de constructeurs. Gezien de vorm, 36 punten in de laatste vijf races tegenover vijf puntjes voor Lotus Renault GP, is het zeker mogelijk om die achterstand te overbruggen.

Coureur Adrian Sutil: Onze kansen zijn goed. We mogen natuurlijk niet verslappen, het is zaak kalm en geconcentreerd te blijven, maar het is altijd goed om aan het einde van een seizoen in een sterke positie te verkeren. En punten pakken en jagen is makkelijker dan een positie verdedigen. Je wordt sneller nerveus en wij weten uit ervaring van vorig jaar dat het lastig is om dan een plek vast te houden. In 2010 verloren we met een punt, hopelijk eindigen we dit jaar een punt voor Lotus Renault GP. Het is haalbaar.

De recente resultaten spreken in ons voordeel, met twee auto's punten scoren is belangrijk. Dat was alweer een tijdje geleden, dus daar zijn we blij mee en nu willen we die lijn door trekken. Hopelijk lukt dat. Suzuka is misschien een ander verhaal met een sterker Lotus Renault GP dan in Singapore, maar we hebben altijd een kans en het is zaak om zelf alles uit onze mogelijkheden te halen. We kunnen het doen. Het voelt goed om met de grote teams te kunnen strijden.
