Balende Sainz blijft strijdbaar: "Het is nog niet over"

Carlos Sainz was één van de grote verliezers van de kwalificatie in Abu Dhabi. De Spaanse Ferrari-coureur begon met een goed gevoel aan de laatste kwalificatiesessie van het jaar. Hij kwam van een koude kermis thuis, want hij kwam niet verder dan de zestiende tijd.

Sainz begon vol goede moed aan de kwalificatie op het circuit van Yas Marina. De Spaanse coureur liet in de vrije trainingen zien dat er genoeg snelheid in de Ferrari zat, maar dat kreeg hij er niet uit in de kwalificatie. Hij klaagde over mogelijke blokkeeracties van andere coureurs en ook het feit dat iedereen in de pitlane nogal langzaam rijdt om een gat te laten vallen, kon niet op de goedkeuring van Sainz rekenen.

Na afloop van de kwalificatie overheerste de teleurstelling bij Sainz. De Spanjaard baalt van zijn resultaat en hij zoekt in een persbericht van Ferrari naar antwoorden: "Het was een heel erg moeilijke dag voor mij. We belandden in een situatie waarin we de pitlane te laat verlieten omdat we een klein probleempje hadden met onze voorvleugel. Het verkeer tijdens onze snelle ronde hielp ook niet en ik kon geen goede ronde rijden. Dat was dus mijn fout. Tot nu toe is het een lastig weekend, maar de race is pas morgen en ik ga pushen voor punten. Het is nog niet over."

Als je namelijk kampioen wil worden moet je constant kunnen leveren en geen foute maken.
Dit is een super belangrijke race voor Ferrari en Sainz start 16e

Net zoals alle andere coureurs ook Leclerc, Noris, Hamilton, Russel, Alonso en Perez fouten hebben gemaakt dit seizoen.

Als je kampioen wil worden kan iedere punt die je laat liggen het verschil zijn tussen kampioen of verliezer.

Ik hoop dat Ferrari morgen 2e wordt, ……….. omdat ik het Mercedes niet gun.
Maar beide Ferrari coureurs zijn geen wereldkampioen materiaal.
Als Ferrari ooit nog kampioen wil worden zullen ze Max moeten binnenhalen.

  Max heeft een contract tot 2028, ik verwacht dat hij die met een 2 jaar verlengt en dat hij dan ook in andere klasse kan rijden, als dat te combineren is,
  
  En na 2030 stopt hij ermee, en gaat andere dingen doen, maar een ander team zie ik hem zeker niet gaan, of ze moeten slaande ruzie hebben.

  Beide coureurs zijn wel wereldkampioen materiaal @Red. In de juiste omstandigheden. Ze zijn niet zo goed als Max en zullen niet in staat zijn om zwakheden van de auto of het team te compenseren. Maar met een concurrerende auto en sterk team kunnen ze winnen, als ze geen uitzonderlijke concurrent als Max tegenover hun hebben staan. Damon Hill en Jensen Button zijn ooit ook kampioen geworden.

  Snel rondje, beide Ferrari coureurs maken zonder de druk van een kampioenschap al te vaak fouten of hebben slechte momenten, als de druk erop zou komen te staan zie ik ze nog veel vaker blunderen.
