Ferrari verslaat concurrentie bij pitstops Abu Dhabi

Het team van Red Bull Racing was weer opvallend dominant in Abu Dhabi. Max Verstappen kwam onbedreigd als winnaar over de streep en hij won zijn negentiende race van het jaar. Toch waren ze niet op elk gebied oppermachtig in Abu Dhabi, in de pitlane werden ze namelijk verslagen.

Red Bull was dit jaar opvallend sterk op de circuits, maar in de pitstraat waren ze niet zo sterk als in de voorgaande jaren. Veel andere teams wisten namelijk ook snel de banden te wisselen. Op het circuit van Yas Marina verrichtte het team van Ferrari namelijk de snelste pitstop door de banden van Carlos Sainz in 2,16 seconden te verwisselen. Het team van McLaren werd tweede en derde met twee pitstops van 2,22 seconden. Red Bull eindigde als vierde en vijfde met pitstops van 2,27 en 2,32 seconden.
