Het Formule 1-seizoen kwam afgelopen weekend ten einde in Abu Dhabi. Maar, dat betekent niet dat alle teammedewerkers en coureurs al op vakantie kunnen gaan. Vandaag wordt er op het circuit van Yas Marina namelijk de post season test afgewerkt. Alle teams moeten twee auto's inzetten bij de test die de hele dag duurt.

Rookietest

De teams moeten allemaal één auto reserveren voor een rookie. Dat betekent dat de jongelingen een hele dag de kans krijgen om zichzelf te laten zien. Alleen het team van Alfa Romeo heeft nog niet bekend gemaakt wie er zal gaan rijden, maar het is aannemelijk dat Theo Pourchaire zal gaan rijden. De meeste teams kiezen voor de rookies die ook in actie kwamen tijdens de eerste vrije training in Abu Dhabi. Alleen Ayumu Iwasa en Franco Colapinto reden niet in VT1.

Bandentest

Alle tien de teams moeten ook een auto inzetten voor een bandentest voor bandenleverancier Pirelli. Het is de bedoeling dat de vaste coureurs hier de auto besturen. Alleen het team van Haas kiest ervoor om een andere coureur in te zetten, hier zal Pietro Fittipaldi plaatsnemen achter het stuur. Alleen de teams van McLaren en Alfa Romeo hebben nog niet bevestigd wie er zal gaan rijden.
