Formule 1 bevestigt zes sprintlocaties voor 2024

De Formule 1 heeft zojuist bekend gemaakt op welke circuits de sprintraces worden verreden in 2024. Zoals verwacht worden er zes sprints verreden in het aankomende seizoen. In 2024 wordt er gesprint in China, Miami, Oostenrijk, Austin, Sao Paulo en Qatar.

Voor het eerst zal er worden gesprint in China en Miami. De race in Shanghai keert volgend jaar terug op de kalender van de koningsklasse van de autosport. Hoe de sprintweekenden er precies uitgaan zien, is nog niet duidelijk. De F1 Commission ging recent akkoord met een nieuw format. Hoe dit format eruit zal gaan zien, moet nog worden bedacht. De coureurs en teams zijn geen grote fans van de sprints, maar uit onderzoek van de Formule 1 blijkt dat de kijkcijfers van de sprints hoog waren.
