'Onderzoek naar Wolff komt mogelijk door vete met FIA-president'

Het onderzoek van de FIA naar de mogelijke belangenverstrengeling van Toto en Susie Wolff houdt de gemoederen flink bezig. Het is onduidelijk waarom de FIA het onderzoek is gestart en het is ook niet duidelijk welke rol FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem hierbij speelt. Er wordt zelfs gewezen naar zijn lastige band met Wolff.

Dinsdagavond maakte de FIA bekend dat ze een onderzoek hebben geopend naar Toto en Susie Wolff. Er wordt gekeken naar mogelijke belangenverstrengeling. Men vreest dat Toto Wolff informatie van de FOM heeft ingezien die hij niet hoort in te zien. Er werd gewezen naar Susie Wolff, die werkzaam is bij de F1 Academy. Opvallend genoeg reageerden vrijwel alle partijen woedend en afkeurend op het onderzoek.

Er gingen geruchten rond over klagende teambazen, maar ook dit werd de kop ingedrukt. Alle teams plaatsten gisteravond een statement op sociale media waarin ze ontkennen iets met de zaak te maken te hebben. Volgens de BBC speelt er mogelijk iets anders. De Britse omroept stelt dat hooggeplaatste personen binnen de Formule 1 wijzen naar FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Insiders melden aan de BBC dat Ben Sulayem niet blij is met uitlatingen van Wolff over belangrijke zaken in de sport. Het onderzoek wordt volgens de BBC gezien als een resultaat van de discussies tussen Wolff en Ben Sulayem.

      Ja, het zegt dat ze zich vreselijk beledigd voelt en ze daar haar ongenoegen over uit. Een hele normale reactie als zoiets even rauw op je dak komt om dan flink van je af te bijten. Goed gedaan Susie!!

    Als dat zo is kan ik de uitspraak van Suzie erg goed begrijpen. En bovendien ook erg slim om het op ‘vrouwenhaat’ te gooien. Helemaal na de vermeende uitspraken van meneer Ben Sulayem.
