FIA maakt regelementen F2 en F3 genderneutraal

De schrijfwijze van de reglementen van de Formule 2 en de Formule 3 is voor 2024 aangepast. De FIA heeft besloten om de regels te herschrijven omdat deze vooralsnog alleen op mannelijke coureurs waren gericht. In de Formule 1 wordt het reglement vooralsnog niet herschreven.

De FIA heeft besloten om de reglementen van de Formule 2 en de Formule 3 genderneutraal te maken. In beide klassen mogen vrouwelijke coureurs ook deelnemen, maar in de regelboeken werd er naar de coureurs verwezen met mannelijke voornaamwoorden. Het is enigszins opvallend aangezien er afgelopen seizoen met Sophia Flörsch een vrouwelijke coureur aan de start stond in de Formule 3.

Vanaf 2024 wordt er in de regels niet meer naar de coureurs verwezen naar 'he' of 'him', maar naar 'the driver'. Hiermee wordt dus niet gezegd dat het om een mannelijke of vrouwelijke coureur gaat. In de regels van de Formule 1 verandert er vooralsnog niets, maar de kans is aanwezig dat dit in de nabije toekomst wel gaat gebeuren. Deze aanpassing past in het recente beleid van de FIA. Ze willen vrouwelijke talenten meer kansen geven en mede daarom werd er eerder dit jaar de F1 Academy opgericht, in deze klasse rijden alleen vrouwelijke coureurs.

      "Driver" is niet mannelijk of vrouwelijk. "The driver" is dus genderneutraal in de Engelse taal.

      @beri, klopt, maar wat ik begreep vanuit andere artikelen, gaat het erom dat daarna telkens naar Driver verwezen wordt als "He"

      Waar dus geen goede smoes voor te bedenken is zoals in de nederlandse taal wel nog mogelijk is (ja we gebruiken hij omdat we verwijzen naar coureur en dat is mannelijk in onze taal)

      @Beemerdude, je zit op t juiste spoor maar ik denk dat ze dan kiezen voor whoever. It kan verwijzen naar de auto, dus verwarring.

    In Baku worden vrijdag de kampioenen van het afgelopen autosportseizoen tijdens het jaarlijkse FIA-gala. De president van de autosportfederatie, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, schittert door afwezigheid.

    Ben Sulayem zou vrijdag de gebruikelijke persconferentie met alle kampioenen openen en dan vast ook iets zeggen over de hele saga rond Toto en Susie Wolff. De president was eerder in de week ook naar Azerbeidzjan afgereisd, maar vervolgens ging het mis.

    De FIA laat weten dat Ben Sulayem ziek werd, is gevallen en daarbij een hersenschudding opliep. Hij werd vervolgens behandeld in het ziekenhuis en zal volledig herstellen, is de verwachting.
