Alpine zit Red Bull dwars: "Dat is onacceptabel"

Er is in de Formule 1 nog steeds veel te doen over de nieuwe motorreglementen van 2026. Dat jaar zullen de krachtbronnen er heel anders uit gaan zien en worden ze veel groener. Red Bull maakt zich zorgen en ze willen verandering zien, Alpine zit echter dwars.

Red Bull maakt zich al geruime tijd zorgen over de nieuwe motorreglementen voor 2026. In dat jaar gaan er nieuwe regels gelden waarbij het vermogen voor de helft afkomstig is uit een verbrandingsmotor en voor de helft uit een elektrische aandrijving. Bij het team van Red Bull vreest men voor 'Frankenstein-auto's' omdat de hoeveelheid luchtweerstand fors omlaag zal gaan. Red Bull wil de verdeling van het vermogen iets aanpassen om raar gedrag van de auto te voorkomen.

Zorgen delen

Bij Alpine zit niemand daar op te wachten. Interim teambaas Bruno Famin vindt het een onzinnig idee en hij laat zich er nu kritisch over uit bij Motorsport.com: "We delen die zorgen natuurlijk allemaal. We werken ook met zijn allen samen om de juiste regels op te stellen voor de auto's zelf. Als je het hebt over energiemanagement, dan kunnen we daar in de komende maanden nog wel aan werken. In dat opzicht hebben we geen haast."

Onacceptabel

Volgens Famin is het te laat om nu iets aan te passen. De Fransman stelt dat alles en ieder al bezig is, maar dat er wel kan worden gesproken over de chassisregels: "Alle motorfabrikanten zijn momenteel al hard aan het werk. Ze hebben al belangrijke keuzes gemaakt voor het ontwerp van de krachtbron en de technologie die ze willen ontwikkelen. Als we nu nog dingen gaan veranderen aan het motorreglement, dan zou dat niet goed zijn. Dat is zelfs onacceptabel."

  Ofwel weet Rb nu al dat zij een rukmotor hebben en willen ze terug een voordeel hebben, net zoals dat manoeuvre met Honda een tijdje geleden.

  "Ofwel weet Rb nu al dat zij een rukmotor hebben" dat vind ik altijd zo'n dom gelul. Dat is het zelfde dat als Verstappen zegt dat hij tegen sprintraces is , dat hij dat zegt omdat hij ze meestal verliest ( wat bepaald niet het geval is)

Begrijp niet goed alle heisa hierover. Vooraleer de nieuwe motorregels er kwamen voor 2026 heeft men jaaaaren gediscuteerd over wat men uiteindelijk wou hebben. Het waren toch ook geen kleine jongens die daar rond de tafel zaten en die niks kenden van een PU.

We gaan naar een "eenvoudiger" systeem terwijl ik het jammer vind dat de MGU-H kwam te verdwijnen. Daar had je veel meer ruimte naar innovatieve technologie dan een gigantische MGU-K waarbij je toch wel wat beperkter zit. Hoeveel Joule je uiteindelijk per ronde kan regenereren ifv de middelen die je krijgt toebedeeld kan geen "rocketscience" zijn, zeker niet na jaren van onderhandelen en kennis van voorgaande jaren. Daar nu opnieuw veranderingen in willen aanbrengen is te gek voor woorden.

Even een zijsprongetje: hoe zit het nu eigenlijk met de ontwikkeling van de huidige Renault motor? Mogen ze hier nou nog aan werken om dichter bij de motoren van de andere teams te komen|?
