Aston Martin verwacht strenge FIA-controles voor Red Bull en AlphaTauri

De teams van Red Bull Racing en AlphaTauri gaan volgend seizoen nauwer met elkaar samenwerken. Een aantal concurrenten maakt zich hier flinke zorgen over. Bij Aston Martin vertrouwt men echter op de FIA, ze gaan er namelijk van uit dat er strenge controles worden uitgevoerd.

Red Bull heeft de banden aangetrokken met zusterteam AlphaTauri. De Italiaanse renstal zal in de komende periode een flinke metamorfose ondergaan. Ze krijgen niet alleen een nieuwe teamnaam en een nieuwe teambaas, ze zullen ook meer hulp gaan krijgen van Red Bull. Sinds 2022 maken ze al gebruik van de windtunnel van Red Bull Racing en sommige concurrenten vragen zich af of de samenwerking niet te innig is.

Windtunnel

Bij het team van Aston Martin maken ze daar iets minder zorgen over. Performance director Tom McCollough legt het uit aan Motorsport.com: "De FIA is behoorlijk streng en ze doen veel inspecties. Dominic Harlow komt namens hen op bezoek bij de teams. Bij ons en Mercedes was de windtunnel altijd gesloten voor de ene partij en geopend voor de andere partij. Er waren verschillende toegangsdeuren en verschillende mensen die de sessie uitvoerden."

Red Bull

McCollough gaat er dan ook vanuit dat de FIA de samenwerking tussen Red Bull en AlphaTauri goed in de gaten houdt. Hij maakt zich nog geen zorgen: "De regels zijn in de afgelopen jaren veranderd. Op de manier zoals dat nu is ingericht hebben ze regels niet meer uitgebuit dan de regelgeving toelaat. De FIA kan naar alles kijken. Je moet volledig transparant zijn wanneer de FIA komt kijken. Ze doen een hoop inspecties. Ik weet zeker dat ze bovenop de samenwerking zitten, want ik weet dat er mensen naar kijken."

Fia komt binnen bij RB vergaderzaal vol met Bull Racing mensen...

Uhh ja deze vergaderzaal is dit uur gewoon voor ons hoor. Wij hebben er geen meer sinds we verhuist zijn naar engeland.

FIA op bezoek bij Ferrari... ennuhm wat zit er achter dit kamertje? "F*ck*ing wankers do not shut my door" ah we horen t al. Haas kantoortje.

Fia op bezoek bij Mclaren... receptioniste: "welke formule ? F1... ja maar meneer die wordt al niet meer gemaakt sinds 98... ik verbind u wel even door naar de raceafdeling..... ...... ..... howdy partner! Yeah we are the prime racing department of Mclaren racing... how many cars? 3.... all chevy powered. Ah you need our european friends... we transfer you... Mclaren... what do you mean car inspection? We already had one in season 2022/2023 ? Yeah nissan cars... go to them in Japan."

Kheb t wel te doen met het personeel dat dit weer moet gaan doen.
