Mekies begonnen als AlphaTauri-teambaas: "Enorm dankbaar"

Het nieuwe jaar is begonnen en dat betekent dat veel kopstukken aan de slag zijn gegaan bij hun nieuwe werkgevers. Het team van AlphaTauri heeft nu de beschikking gekregen over de nieuwe teambaas Laurent Mekies. Hij heeft er in ieder geval heel erg veel zin in.

Mekies was tot halverwege vorig jaar nog werkzaam voor het team van Ferrari. Hij vervulde daar een belangrijke rol binnen het team en bij AlphaTauri hadden ze veel interesse in hem. Het team wordt grondig gereorganiseerd en Mekies mag nu samen met CEO Peter Bayer leiding gaan geven aan het team dat waarschijnlijk Racing Bulls gaat heten. Mekies zweeg geruime tijd, maar zijn gardening leave zit er nu echt op.

Mekies dankt zijn voormalige teamgenoten van Ferrari in een uitgebreid bericht op LinkedIn. Hij is trots op zijn werkzaamheden bij het Italiaanse topteam. Nu richt Mekies zijn blik op de toekomst: "Een nieuw avontuur gaat nu van start voor mij. Ik ben enorm dankbaar dat ik van een speciale racefamilie mag overstappen naar een andere speciale racefamilie. We staan aan de vooravond van een spannend nieuw avontuur. Een nieuw hoofdstuk dat wij met elkaar gaan schrijven en ik kan niet wachten om samen te gaan werken met alle getalenteerde mensen in Faenza en Bicester."

    Eigenlijk terug van weg geweest.
    Heeft een lange carrière in F1 waarbij eerst gestart bij Minardi dat daarna door RB werd opgekocht.

    Nu dus terug terwijl ze nu eerder een RB19B zullen inzetten ipv een eigen ontwerp.
    Met de reorganisatie van beide RB teams onder 1 dak zal het vnl een organisatorische functie zijn die hem wel zal liggen door zijn basis als voormalig track en development engineer en nadien als racing director bij Ferrari.

      Mijn tandarts heeft zich jarenlang afgevraagd waarom die ene verstandskies niet door wilde komen ,totdat ze de beschikking hadden om foto's te maken . Uit die foto's bleek dat hij dwars was gegroeid . Lang laten zitten maar toen hij verkleurde moest ie eruit gesneden worden in het ziekenhuis en de naam van die arts die dat gedaan heeft vergeet ik niet meer , Koppendraaier .
