Kritiek voor Ferrari: "Mick was de perfecte derde coureur"

Sinds Mick Schumacher zijn eind 2022 zijn zitje bij Haas verloor, fungeert hij als reservecoureur van Mercedes. Hij verliet ook de Ferrari-familie en dat zorgt voor ergernis. Luca di Montezemolo stelt namelijk dat Schumacher geschikt was voor een reserverol bij het team van Ferrari.

Mick Schumacher belandde met steun van Ferrari bij het team van Haas. Na twee seizoenen besloot de Amerikaanse renstal zijn contract niet te verlengen. Ook Ferrari maakte de opvallende keuze om Schumacher te laten gaan. Jarenlang was hij onderdeel van de opleidingsploeg, maar toch mocht hij vertrekken. Mercedes pikte hem op en hij is nu de reservecoureur van de Duitse renstal. Hij gaat die rol dit jaar combineren met een WEC-zitje bij Alpine.

Er is veel kritiek op het feit dat Ferrari ervoor koos om Schumacher te laten gaan. Alhoewel het besluit ruim een jaar geleden is genomen, is er nog veel frustratie. Voormalig Ferrari-kopman Luca dit Montezemolo snapt er helemaal niets van en hij is kritisch bij La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Ik baalde best wel van het feit dat Ferrari er niet voor koos om Mick aan te stellen als hun derde coureur. Dat zou perfect bij hem hebben gepast. Hij is een serieuze jongen, echt een goed persoon. Net als zijn zus trouwens."

    Volgens mij heeft Ferrari alle data van Schumacher gezien en een conclusie getrokken.
    Maar ze hoeven alleen maar Toto te bellen en hij heeft zo weer een rood shirt aan.

      Nou Mick had gewoon een contract om voor WEC te rijden bij Ferrari op tafel liggen volgens bepaalde med-ia. Maar hij wou zo nodig betrokken blijven bij F1. Hoewel een WEC contract niet direct tot een rol als reserve of derde coureur hoeft te leiden, was dit natuurlijk erg aannemelijk geweest gezien elk F1 team een 3de coureur met genoeg licentiepunten aan de FIA moet doorgeven.

      Wat was het verschil geweest? Dan had hij met Gio misschien wel de Lemans gewonnen ipv strak voor zich uit kijken naast Toto in een pitbox. Als "coureur" gewoon een jaar niet gereden dus weggegooid.

      Michaels dochter kan goed overweg met 1pk, of ze dat ook kan met de PK’s van een raceauto is onbekend. Ze is in ieder geval niet professioneel actief als coureur. Vanwaar die opmerking dan? Ze is trouwens 26 en een soort cow-girl. Ik zie weinig verband met onze Italiaanse bejaarde Luca van 76 jaar of ze moet wel op heel oude mannen vallen?

    Mick die wil je toch niet hebben in je F1 team, ik neem aan dat hij ook nooit meer in de F1 zal rijden.

      Voor rood moet je stoppen. Bij groen mag jje doorrijden, maar wel uitkijken voor roodrunners.
      Geel is zo een twijfelgevalletje, maar ik vind het wel een mooie kleur.
