'Rueda neemt afscheid van Formule 1-team Ferrari'

Sinds Frédéric Vasseur de teambaas van Ferrari is, is er veel veranderd bij de Italiaanse renstal. Er worden nieuwe namen aangenomen en er vertrekken ook andere belangrijke schakels. Nu lijkt het er op dat ook Iñaki Rueda is vertrokken bij de Formule 1-tak van Ferrari.

Rueda was bij Ferrari de Head of Race Strategy. De Spanjaard werkt al vele jaren in de Formule 1, maar hij kreeg veel kritiek in zijn Ferrari-tijd. De Italiaanse renstal maakte in 2022 bijvoorbeeld veel strategische blunders en dat kostte het team best wat punten. Rueda werd als verantwoordelijke gezien, maar hij werd niet aan de kant geschoven. Wel was hij niet zo vaak meer aanwezig op de circuits en werkte hij vooral op de fabriek. Zijn plekje op de pitmuur werd ingenomen door Ravin Jain.

Volgens het Italiaanse medium Corriere dello Sport heeft Rueda nu de strategieafdeling van Ferrari verlaten. De relatie tussen Rueda en Ferrari is volgens het medium nog steeds heel erg goed, hij zal dan ook niet helemaal gaan vertrekken bij de renstal. Rueda krijgt waarschijnlijk een job op een andere afdeling van Ferrari. De kans is groot dat hij nu aan de slag gaat bij de straatauto-afdeling. Ferrari heeft officieel nog niets gecommuniceerd.

Ohjee... Dan krijgt Ferrari een update in het strategisch deel... Dan kan alleen maar beter worden.

Dat wordt oppassen voor Red Bull en Mercedes....

He he het werd ook tijd dat dit ging gebeuren, snap niet dat hij nog zo lang kon aanblijven in die rol.
Hopelijk gaat de nieuwe het beter doen.
