Red Bull ziet grote fout bij opstellen 2026-regels

Het is algemeen bekend dat er in 2026 nieuwe motorische en technische reglementen gaan gelden in de Formule 1. Niet iedereen is daar even blij mee, bij Red Bull Racing zien ze namelijk een aantal fouten. Ze leggen zich erbij neer, maar ze stellen wel dat er een weeffout is gemaakt.

De nieuwe motorregels voor 2026 zijn al geruime tijd onderwerp van gesprek. De regels worden simpeler en de motoren zullen gaan draaien op een groene brandstof. Daarnaast wordt er ook meer nadruk gelegd op de elektrische componenten van de nieuwe krachtbronnen. Er wordt in dat jaar ook een nieuw technisch reglementen geïntroduceerd, maar daar bestaat iets meer onduidelijkheid over.

Weeffout

Bij het team van Red Bull Racing zijn ze al geruime tijd kritisch op de nieuwe reglementen. Technisch directeur Pierre Waché stelt dat er een 'weeffout' is gemaakt. De motorregels werden immers eerder opgesteld dan de technische regels. Bij Motorsport.com spreekt Waché zich uit: "Ze hadden beide reglementen tegelijkertijd moeten bedenken, maar dat is met de kennis van nu. Voor ons was het ook niet makkelijk om alles tegelijk te doen, want we waren natuurlijk volle bak aan het pushen om beide kampioenschappen te winnen."

Niet kwalijk nemen

Het feit dat de regels op een compleet ander moment zijn gevormd, zorgt dus wel voor de nodige frustratie. Waché stelt wel dat er niet te veel moet worden geklaagd over deze zaak: "Dat beide reglementen niet op hetzelfde moment zijn uitgetekend, is wel het grootste probleem. Ik wil de FIA en de Formule 1 dat niet kwalijk nemen, maar het is wat het is. We moeten het er nu mee doen en we moeten hier vooral van leren voor de volgende keer."

Idealiter moeten deze op hetzelfde moment bekend zijn zodat er een ontwikkeling gestart kan worden met het oog op de andere (nieuwe) reglementen, zodat ze in een eindstadium mooi 'in elkaar verweven' kunnen worden. Nu kan dat minder 'mooi' en moet men, bijvoorbeeld, op aero gebied (actieve aero) meer 'knutselen' om het gebrek aan power bijvoorbeeld te compenseren.

  RBR stuit op een weeffout, zijn de andere teams soms nog niet zover met de ontwikkeling van de 2026 auto.

Het huilie huilie gaat al beginnen nu is het nog wachten op de mededeling dat ze gaan stoppen als het niet verandert.
