Sauber maakt opvallende keuze voor F1 Academy bekend

Aankomend seizoen maakt de F1 Academy deel uit van het voorprogramma van de Formule 1. De klasse voor getalenteerde vrouwelijke coureurs krijgt steun van alle Formule 1-teams. Alle tien de teams moeten in ieder geval één coureur steunen. Sauber heeft hun keuze bekend gemaakt.

De F1 Academy heeft namelijk bekend gemaakt dat de Duitse Carrie Schreiner voor het team van Campos zal gaan rijden. Ze zal dat gaan doen in de kleuren van de Sauber Academy, de opleidingsploeg van het team dat in de Formule 1 rijdt onder de naam Stake F1 Team. De keuze voor de 25-jarige Schreiner is opvallend, ze maakte vorig jaar geen grootste indruk en Sauber zette toen Léna Buhler in. Buhler werd tweede in het kampioenschap, het is nog niet duidelijk wat haar plannen voor 2024 zijn.
