'Franse zender aast op Formule 1-rechten Viaplay'

De Formule 1 is sinds 2022 in Nederland te zien bij de streamingdienst Viaplay. De van oorsprong Scandinavische dienst heeft het echter op financieel gebied heel zwaar. De kans is dan ook zeer groot dat ze de uitzendrechten gaan verliezen, het lijkt er op dat er nu een nieuwe geïnteresseerde partij is.

Het is geen geheim dat het zeer slecht gaat met Viaplay. De streamingsdienst stond op omvallen en recent kwamen ze met een oplossing. Ze trekken zich terug van meerdere markten en ze hebben een flinke kapitaalinjectie ontvangen. Canal+ en PPF zijn nu immers nieuwe, kapitaalkrachtige aandeelhouders. Volgens TotaalTV gaat Canal+ mogelijk een stapje verder, ze zouden misschien een poging willen wagen om de uitzendrechten van de Formule 1 in Nederland te kopen.

De Formule 1 is in Frankrijk al te zien bij Canal+, ze weten dus al hoe het is om de koningsklasse van de autosport uit te zenden. In het verleden hadden ze ook al een sportzender in Nederland. Die zender ging later verder als Sport1 en dat werd daarna zelfs nog Ziggo Sport. Ook Ziggo schijnt interesse te hebben in de Formule 1. Tot en met enkele jaren geleden was de sport dan ook te zien bij deze zender.

      Chagrijn is eeuwen geleden geleend uit het Frans. Het Franse chagrin betekent 'korzeligheid', 'verdriet'. Sinds het begin van de twintigste eeuw komt de vernederlandste spelling sacherijn voor. Je kunt iemand ook een stuk chagrijn/sacherijn noemen.
