AlphaTauri dacht het beter te weten dan Red Bull

Het team van AlphaTauri gaat vanaf dit jaar nauwer samenwerken met grote broer Red Bull Racing. De Italiaanse renstal kende vorig jaar een redelijk teleurstellend seizoen. Volgens Peter Bayer komt dat door het feit dat zijn team de andere kant opging dan Red Bull-kopstukken Adrian Newey en Pierre Wache.

Het Red Bull-concern is de eigenaar van zowel AlphaTauri als Red Bull Racing. Ze hebben besloten de twee teams beter met elkaar te laten samenwerken. Daarnaast ondergaat AlphaTauri dit jaar een flinke metamorfose. Er wordt een afdeling geopend in Milton Keynes, er komt een naamswijziging en er is een compleet nieuw bestuur aangesteld. Peter Bayer fungeert sinds vorig jaar als CEO en hij ziet dat er stappen zijn gezet.

Bayer weet dan ook wat de oorzaak is van de tegenvallende resultaten van AlphaTauri in 2023. Hij laat aan Motorsport Magazin weten dat het er dit jaar anders uit gaat zien: "Ik denk dat we alles in huis hebben om succesvol te zijn in deze sport. Er zijn meerdere oorzaken van de resultaten van vorig jaar. De hoofdreden is denk ik dat sommige engineers dachten dat ze het beter konden doen dat Red Bull met hun kopstukken Adrian Newey en Pierre Wache. Als je naar de huidige situatie kijkt, dan zie je dat iedereen Red Bull kopieert. Wij zijn het kleine broertje en we wilden het anders doen. Dat was fout."

Prima dat ze hun fout toegeven maar denken dat je het wel even beter kan doen dan Newey en Wache, getuigd mij inziens van misplaatste arrogantie!

  Dit artikel is vrij beknopt. Er zijn diverse mensen ontslagen nav dit eigenwijze gedrag en het gerucht gaat dat Tost daarom ook drie jaar eerder dan gepland is "weggegaan".

Neverending story bij AT / TR
Bouwen ze het zelf is het niet goed genoeg, kopen ze bij de grote broer in, halen zij niet het maximale eruit omdat F1 te complex is. Dan maar weer zelf bouwen wat wederom niet goed genoeg is en dan toch maar weer inkopen.

  Ze hebben bij at in het verleden toch wel wat succesjes gehad en als ik me niet vergis met eigen auto's. De auto die max had bij debut was niet veel slechter als de redbull van dat seizoen. Vettel is eens op het podium gekomen en gasly ook
