'Opnames F1-film gaan verder tijdens 24 uur van Daytona'

Het lijkt er op dat de opnames voor de aanstaande Formule 1-film weer zijn begonnen. De opnames van de film met Brad Pitt in de hoofdrol lagen geruime tijd stil, maar nu reizen ze weer af naar de circuits. De eerste opnames lijken niet plaats te vinden tijdens een Grand Prix-weekend, maar tijdens de 24 uur van Daytona.

Vorig jaar verscheen er in Silverstone een extra team in de pitlane. Het ging hier niet om een echt team, maar om een fictieve renstal voor de aanstaande film over de Formule 1. De hoofdrollen zijn weggelegd voor Hollywood-ster Brad Pitt en Damson Idris. Ze verschenen zelfs op de grid voor het volkslied en ze reden een aantal rondjes in aangepaste Formule 2-bolides. De opnames met Pitt lagen daarna maanden stil vanwege een acteursstaking in Hollywood.

Die staking is nu verleden tijd en dat betekent dat de opnames ook weer kunnen worden hervat. Volgens RACER worden er later deze maand weer opnames gemaakt. Dit zal echter niet gebeuren tijdens een Formule 1-sessie, maar tijdens de 24 uur van Daytona en een testrun een week eerder. Volgens het medium zal de filmploeg een GTD-bolide gaan inzetten voor Pitt. Het is niet duidelijk of deze wagen echt de baan op gaat komen tijdens de testdag en de 24 uursrace, of dat een bestaand team hun wagen zal gaan hullen in de kleuren van het fictieve team.

  Al is dat laatste nog te begrijpen aangezien de riolering op de camping al maanden stuk is.

Is immers één van de meest populaire F1 circuits met een herkenbare backdrop. ;-)
