Aandeelhouders keuren belangrijke plannen Viaplay goed

De mensen bij Viaplay kunnen opgelucht adem halen. Vandaag stond er een belangrijke bijeenkomst op het programma voor de streamingdienst. De aandeelhouders van het bedrijf hebben de plannen om de toekomst te waarborgen goedgekeurd, het is goed nieuws voor Viaplay.

Viaplay zendt sinds 2022 de Formule 1 uit in Nederland. De van oorsprong Scandinavische streamingdienst ontving al snel veel kritiek op de manier van uitzenden, het commentaar en de kwaliteit van de streams. Daarnaast hadden ze het op financieel gebied heel erg zwaar. Het leek er eventjes op dat ze op omvallen stonden, maar uiteindelijk besloten ze in te grijpen. Ze trokken zich terug van een aantal markten en ze presenteerden een flinke kapitaalinjectie.

Vandaag kwamen de aandeelhouders bij elkaar om de plannen te bekijken. Ze besloten akkoord te gaan met de plannen voor de herkapitalisatie. Eerder gingen de obligatiehouders ook akkoord met de plannen van Viaplay. Canal+ en PPF krijgen veel aandelen in handen. Hiermee hoopt Viaplay voorlopig het hoofd boven water te houden, maar het is nog maar de vraag of dit gaat lukken. Er bestaat veel twijfel over de streamingdienst en de kritiek is ook nog niet weg. Ze hebben tot eind dit jaar de uitzendrechten van de Formule 1 in handen.

    Ik denk dat ik één van de weinige ben die tevreden is over Viaplay.
    Oke, het commentaar is soms van 'n bedroevend niveau, maar dan douw ik gewoon mijn vingers ff in m'n oren.

      Ik doe f1tv en omdat ik blijkbaar in nl zit is de automatische voertaal Nederlands. Dus telkens als ik iets stream dan hoor ik de heren van Viaplay. Geen idee wie die twee zijn, maar 1 van de twee klinkt mij dusdanig in de oren dat ik niet snel genoeg over kan schakelen naar Sky Duitsland commentaar.

      Overigens zegt dat niets over het inhoudelijke. Dat zou ik namelijk niet weten. Ik heb dat ook met Buxton trouwens. Als die begint te praten dan zet ik het commentaar ook snel over.

      @Snailer: ik gebruik een chromecast en als je de voertaal van de chromecast op Engels zet, dan is de standaardtaal van F1TV ook Engels

      Precies., dit is gewoon een laatste wanhopige weg gegooid geld actie dit om de bull krampachtig boven te hoog water te houden. Viaplay zal uiteindelijk gewoon koppie onder gaan.
