Red Bull onthult nieuwe wagen op 15 februari

Ook het team van Red Bull Racing heeft bekend gemaakt wanneer ze hun nieuwe auto aan de rest van de wereld gaan laten zien. De Oostenrijkse renstal onthulde zojuist dat ze hun launch organiseren op 15 februari, precies over een maand dus. Het is het derde team dat de datum vandaag bekend maakt.

Eerder vandaag onthulde de teams van Mercedes en Alpine wanneer ze het doek gaan trekken van hun nieuwe auto's. Regerend constructeurskampioen Red Bull Racing heeft dat nu ook gedaan, op 15 februari zullen Max Verstappen en Sergio Perez hun nieuwe kleuren gaan laten zien. Het is nog maar de vraag of het publiek direct de RB20 te zien gaat krijgen, vorig jaar lieten ze immers alleen de livery zien.

    Nog meer een waarschuwing voor de concurrenten: "De RB19 had nog steeds elementen die we konden verbeteren"

    Ook al is simulatorwerk niet hetzelfde als de realiteit: "De simcoureurs zeggen dat het een evolutie is, geen revolutie. Het is een simulator en nog steeds een virtuele wereld. Dus je wil natuurlijk een correlatie tussen de baan en de simulator, en die is er de afgelopen jaren redelijk goed geweest."

    "Hopelijk boeken we vooruitgang. Maar de stopwatch liegt nooit en we zullen het pas zien als we op het circuit zijn." Bovendien heeft de RB20 de RB19 om mee te concurreren. "Alleen de tijd zal het leren. Ik bedoel, de RB19 is de meest succesvolle auto uit de geschiedenis van de Formule 1, dus de RB20 moet in hele grote voetsporen treden."

    "Maar er zijn altijd dingen die je leert in deze business. De RB19 had nog steeds elementen die we konden verbeteren en het team heeft daar in de winter hard aan gewerkt in de ontwerpfase", aldus de Red Bull-teambaas.

    ter ere van Dietrich Mateschitz. Iemand antwoordde:

      Voor lezers die denken dat ik een grap maak... RB17 wordt een vermoedelijk nog extremere Valkyrie, maar dan van RB technologie
