Komatsu verwacht weinig van seizoenstart

Het team van Haas eindigde afgelopen jaar op de laatste plaats in het constructeurskampioenschap. De Amerikaanse renstal wil nu stappen gaan zetten met de nieuwe auto. Kersvers teambaas Ayao Komatsu wil niet te vroeg juichen, hij stelt dat zijn team wel laat is begonnen met het ontwikkelingsproces.

Komatsu werd vorige week aangesteld als de nieuwe teambaas van het team van Haas. Aangezien teameigenaar Gene Haas had besloten om het contract van Günther Steine niet te verlengen, werd Komatsu naar voren geschoven. De Japanner is trots, maar hij wil niet dat iedereen te hoge verwachtingen heeft van zijn team. Hij wijst naar het ontwikkelingsproces en de prestaties van het afgelopen jaar.

Teambaas Komatsu wil niet stellen dat Haas ver achter de rest van het veld zal gaan rijden. De Japanner wil realistisch blijven en hij wordt geciteerd door Motorsportweek: "De auto voor 2024 is overduidelijk een stap. Maar of het goed genoeg is om het op te nemen tegen de competitie? Dat denk ik niet, want we zijn pas laat begonnen. We hebben het concept ook vrij laat aangepast en de update in Austin had ook invloed op onze resources. Ik ben dus realistisch over de auto waarmee we in Bahrein gaan rijden, maar ik ben niet negatief."

En dat gooien met mensen is bij de Yankees misschien heel normaal maar ik ben er niet zo'n voorstander van.

Laat Gene zijn handeltje maar verkopen aan iemand of iemanden met wel sportieve ambities in de F1...

      Dit is meneer Haas met z'n laatste kunstje. Die verkoopt de boel binnenkort en heeft Komatzu als interim aangesteld.

      10 jaar haalt ie echt niet. Met alle respect voor Komatsu, maar als Steiner het al niet redt, dan kan zo'n kleine Japanner het helemaal niet.

      Het eerste (verkopen) zou mogelijk kunnen zijn @RJHvandaag, je tweede opmerking (kleine Japanner) nogal bedenkelijk, om het zacht uit te drukken!

      hm korte teentjes weer. Sinds wanneer is het verboden, of denigrerend, om iemand klein te noemen ? Bovendien zijn Japanners gewoon klein van postuur...
      en lengte dwingt van nature nu eenmaal meer respect af.

      Had gehoopt dat je het inmiddels ingezien had @RJHvandaag, maar helaas nog niet, daarom: Je hebt het niet alleen d e n i g r e r e n d over een klein iemand die minder zou zijn maar ook over een Japanner in negatieve zin.

      "Als Steiner(een grote witte Westerse man) het al niet redt, dan kan zo'n kleine Japanner het helemaal niet."

      Dat is koloniaal danken, destijds dacht men hier ook dat men tot het superieure Westerse witte r a s behoorde.
      "Korte teentjes" is dus onzin.
