Formule E sluit enorme deal met Saoedische overheid

Het is geen geheim dat de Saoedische overheid veelvuldig investeert in de internationale sport. Ook de autosport is populair in het land, dat heeft de Formule E nu ook gemerkt. Het Saoedische Public Investment Fund (PIF) heeft namelijk een enorme deal gesloten met het elektrische wereldkampioenschap.

De Formule E en het PIF hebben een enorme deal voor de komende jaren aangekondigd. Het PIF gaat niet alleen een samenwerking aan met de Formule E, maar ook met de Extreme E en de nieuwe elektrische powerboat-klasse E1. Deze deal staat bekend onder de naam Electric 360. Het is niet helemaal duidelijk om welk bedrag het gaat en hoelang de samenwerking precies gaat duren.

      Witwassen hebben ze niet nodig, maar wat @Tyla zegt wel: Sportwashing.
      Oftewel je imago opvijzelen door fors in sport te investeren. Zie F1, voetbal, golf en nu dus ook FE.

    En het is zo'n waardeloos klote land, helaas hebben ze geld als water, dus 95% zal daar ook altijd voor zwichten.

      Naja elke euro/dollar dat een ander in jouw bedrijf wil investeren zonder beheervermindering, is mooi meegenomen toch?

      Denk dat er genoeg sporten/klassen zijn die jaloers zijn op deze investering (ik noem maar kleine sporten als BMX, Skateboarden, badminton)

    Hoe opmerkelijk de toon van het bericht, hoe trots de aankondiging van 'Formule E' wel niet is... zeker toch onmogelijk... onmogelijk... dat ze niet weten hoezeer het land en zo'n bedrijf de naam van hun eigen sport bezoedelt.

    Over corrupte mentaliteit gesproken: ziehier Formule E.
